Oh the Cold Of It All

Here is the gallery

Louis has been playing independent of Daphne. Daphne and Louis live together but today they were playiung together. Wish we got Daphne in full display but you can see the top of her head. Something about this snow....

We got a video of Winston the Nami puppy - 1st born and it was delightful to see him in the snow. That white stuff seems to be a hit with pups and the adults. Imagine that!

Dogs were out in full force out in it. Coco the maltese was a riot putting her face in the white stuff.

I just love their enthusiasn.

Tonight Nafas and Stryker have class. Stryker has not gone out on car rides etc but Nafas has been everywhere. Hopefully Nafas will be the star. LOL

I love the beauty of the snow but I want to go back to flip flops and swimming - can we?

1st Snow

Here is the gallery. Just Added Some...

I felt like following Daphne was like a blur and all the while her housemate Louis was watching and started playing with Stryker and Daphne. What a ball of excitement Daphne is.

Then you had Strker enjoying the snow but not like Daphne. He ended up a sopping mess.

All the dogs did so now we have warm blankets to dry and chill on. We will do it again and again. Exciting times for firsts. I even put on my snow pants and tried to put on my hat but several dogs barked and barked at me so I took it off and the barking stopped. Maybe I need to wear the hat more often to condition them.

Even Harlow went out and went ah the white stuff is back. At 1st she thought, I imagine that Daphne was a rabbit running under the brush and then she realized and it was as if the fun dissipated. Oh her.... no rabbit hunting. She so looks forward to it and she likes the pups but not to try to catch.

How much snow will we get? You tell me.

Didn't get much but enough. The dogs got sopping wet as it was wet snow. They had a grand time, though!

Brr Cold is Here

Here is the gallery.

Benji was here for a groom so I took the time to expose him to the puppies. Is that a gremlin? The puppy was persistent. It was a great interaction.

We had a ton of movement outside with the weather dropping.

I even gave in and went and got my aloe and succulents in by repotting. Anything else that is out there - oh well. I am done.

We had our puppy visit as well and they had fun. See Yoshi's blog to see the photos and videos.

It really feels cool and with the movement we captured, the dogs were loving it.

Daphne the Hallie pup is fitting in with Stryker quite well and so is Tessa who is a visitor. Daphne has more stamina than Stryker. LOL At night he drops dead asleep and doesn't even get up for bathroom visits by Nathan. He is tired. She poked her head up and says okay then goes back to sleep. Her sidekick that she lives with is always aware of where she is but they are playing independent.

A number of dogs departed and one is missed by the pups - Newt. He was a great hit. Trigger and Katie was like - are you kidding - mini dogs - it was funny! Newt liked them.

So far it has been a great weekend for the dogs. They are really embracing this cooler time. Even Noah and Zoe think this weather is grand and they are older dogs. We shall see how they like it when that white stuff flies tomorrow.

Each dental clinic we do a couple of our dogs. This time it was Stormy and Nami. What a great job they do.

Ty was here and is departing tonight. We so enjoy him.

Wet and Miserable

Here is the gallery.

Sorry not many photos. Ty goes out in the rain but it is as if he is saying - really? I believe they all but a couple feel that way. I get it. We need the rain to stop.

I am washing feet nonstop.

The dogs are getting along and enjoying each other.

We have a Hallie puppy Daphne visiting us. Stryker and Mommy Hallie and Nami too are beyond excited!

Debris and All

Here is the gallery.

This is the debris that gets taken in on their coats, paws and what have you. Dennis spent the bulk of the day out trying to clean some of it up. He is far from done.

Tomorrow we have a dental clinic. We almost cancelled as there are so few dogs but she said she will still come. We are talking about doing this yearly vs every few months. We shall see. What do you think?

I hate the dark so early at night now. Sure great to be bright and light at 7am but prefer the dark to wait. The dogs prefer the light too.

Thank you to Magic's mom for the amaryllis. That was unexpected and sweet.

Miserable Weather

Here is the gallery.

It is windy, cold, damp and rainy at times. But we make the best of it.

We now have our heat on. It is just too cold without. I am hoping the dampness goes.

Nava is here for a combout. Ellie and Coco was here for play and grooming.

Logan and Panda will depart shortly and Ollie the Coton just departed. It has been a busy but fun day.

Oh and Harlow wants her mousse. Thanks, David!

Short Changed

Small gallery - sorry!

As it was Dennis day off, it was left for me to take photos and with sharing a camera between the pups and the adults, well I am falling down on the job. I can't wait to get my camera back. We finally heard from them that it was a shutter issue. It has to be replaced but they have to order the parts in so they can't even give us an expected repair date. So, we will have to make do with mini galleries till then...

Its really messy all over our floors. I didn't realize how often Dennis sweeps or vacuums the floors till it was my job. I did sweep 3 times today and it isn't perfectly free of debris. This is the beauty of fall. I could live without to be honest.

Dogs did go out many times today but it is not the same as when it is dry.

They shut down our sprinkler system today - new company as our last year's guys went out of business so it is now done. I was doing a dog and had just rinsed and they shut the water to the house. LOL No one asked me if I needed water. It all timed out right despite the lack of communications.

I put a bunch of blankets in the dryer and the dogs cuddled into them so warm and toasty. See, they enjoy clean warm things too!

Wet Out Again

Here is the gallery

Tired of the rain already. I would rather have the white stuff. Did I say that?

Dogs are dragging in everything and leaves can't be done till it is dry.

We are still adjusting to the time change. Dogs still wanted to get up way too early. Hoping tonight is better.

Dogs came. Dogs went but everyone is having a blast despite me washing their undersides and feet on the day off. LOL

Happy 14th

Hi Nathan and Darlah!

Our Princess Lola is celebrating her 14th birthday today.  It’s like yesterday when we brought her home as a puppy when our kids were little. She’s been with us through happy times and some tough times.  Always looking out for us.  An absolute blessing to our family.

Here she is, a bit older and greyer, but she is still our “puppy”.  Gomez, who is now 3, loves Lola to pieces and was more than happy to get into the photos.

Wishing the Talemaker Family all the best!

Managing

Here is a mini gallery.

Tomorrow is my day off - 1st in a very long time. I may stay in bed late. We shall see. But the blogs will be small, Still do them. Still take photos but no chores as much as I can get away with.

It is not cold out. Okay, it is cooler out and we need to do leaves but it has to be dry 1st.

Mr. Pippin will be going home tomorrow. I will be doing his grooming just before bed.

A dog (will go nameless) got behind the tv room tv and took it out - well all the cords by us trying to get them out. It seems there was an antler there and they went to retreive it. Oh boy Dennis had fun plugging it all back in to get it to work again. I said it was an opportunity to vacuum behind the tv cabinet? He just looked at me and did just that. So laughing as I was teasing him.

Now the dogs are all over the couch and chairs and crates etc watching tv with Nathan.

Guess with the time change, it is about to get dark. Joy - not!

In Or Out

Here is the gallery.

We are sharing a camera - Dennis and I so not many photos but looks like we are figuring it out. It means less moments captured but still some. Sort of that half empty, half full thing. if too expensive to repair, may have to save up for a used one - joy not!

We have Abby and Zoe here overnight. We also have Maurey, Brodie and Brewer overnight.

We are looking forward - I think to watching the Blue Jays tonight with the dogs.

We have started to do days off starting next week. Nathan frowned as he has to do more when either Dennis or I am off but we all need days off. Not all of us can watch tv. LOL

We have a dental clinic coming up. Are you interested?

We also have 2 pups available. See Yoshi's blog.

If you are going away over the winter break and need boarding, let us know as we cap this timeframe.

Harlow rolled in the leaves Dennis raked and well they are not raked anymore. Ok, I am laughing as dogs will be dogs.

Wet and More Wet

Messy times with rain gallery.

Harlow and Willow are becoming the best of pals. Usually Harlow prefers Ella but lately everywhere Willow goes, Harlow goes. It is interesting how relationships change and will she snuggle with Ella? Time will tell. I think she loves them both!

It is wet outside and our floors reflect it and so do the dogs. I started brushing out and 10 minutes later it looked like I never touched them. That is because it truly is wet outdoors just in time for Halloween.

We will be keeping our lights out as it is just too crazy to have the door be revolving with dogs barking. That is our excuse. It is just too stress-filled with dogs and costumes on kids to not be proactive.

Also, if you are participating, block them from exciting out of the home. You do not want a tragedy.

Happy 2 Year's Old

Happy 2nd Birthday to Rain, Hope, Mocha and Petey!   Malla is such a wonderful and loving dog who will be spending her special day with cuddles and chicken!  It's hard to imagine life before she came into our lives.  Thank you again for such a great experience and we are lucky to see you often!  Have a great day

Wednesday

Here is the gallery.

It is a cool brisk day especially at 7am. brrr but the dogs do not seem to mind.

The dogs are having so much fun today. Stryker needs his bath today. Nava needs her comb out. Logan needs his tummy done.

I need to find socks. LOL

It is a low key day.

Nathan has bursitis his endocronologist thinks. I think that is good news!

Oh the Fall Of It!

Here is the gallery.

It is cool out but the dogs really enjoy it like this. I guess after all that heat, it is time for crisp air.

Our grand daughter and boyfriend came by to get their dog as they were in Japan. I got to see so many wonderful photos and spend time with them. It was wonderful. Unfortunately they came when Nathan was napping so he didn't get any time with them. They played with the Yoshi pups as Stryker was napping too.

We did manage to get a case for Harlow of mousse but it wasn't the starter mousse so she refuses this flavour. Picky picky...

I may make satin balls - a small batch.

Hallie and Cassie chased a rabbit - sigh. Harlow watched and tried to cut it off at the pass but this rabbit is very fast.

Tenshi has managed to get her spot in the tv back as Cassie departed. Sometimes I think it is 'me' 1st or musical chairs. No arguments but a few pouts when this occurs.

Happy 8th

Hi Darlah and Nathan,

Happy 8th Birthday to my gorgeous girl Bonnie.  She is an absolute pleasure, and brings joy to me every moment.  Bonnie loves meeting people, and I call her my social butterfly.  She always brings smiles to the people she meets when we’re out and about.   Havanese are truly special, and I cherish my girl Bonnie everyday!

Thanks for allowing me to be her Mom!

Oh Out in General Population

Here is the gallery.

Even Harlow likes Stryker. He is so happy to be with the big dogs. They seem very happy to have him join them. No growls. No signs of irritation. Just fun. We will try him with Yoshi's pups later on. They are sleeping.

Harlow kissed and nose touched him.

The dogs are enjoying this balmy weather.

Nathan had to call CAA as it seems he ran over a screw and they fixed it. We had no clue where the spare was but they showed him and didn't have to use it. Finally something working. Now he is out food shopping - what is new?

We should be out finishing outside but.... dogs and I have a grooming to get done. That is ok too.

2 Updates Today: Scroll Down

Due to being busy, here is a real mini gallery.

This is Cassie and Opus.

We had 2 pups depart today and we continue to try to get the stuff that needs to come inside in so busy we are. The dump run we were supposed to do didn't happen. Now they are closed till Wednesday. Who closes Monday and Tuesday? I guess the city.

Opus departs tomorrow after Luna departs. I will wake up and groom him/bath etc. Then Luna will depart. Stryker will have to deal with the older dogs and learn to sleep with us at night.

We wash and vacuum many times a day and all sorts of things get strewn all over our floors. I almost want to resin leaves down on my floors and pretend the debris belongs there. See what fall does to my brain?

We have to deal with leaves. I said to Dennis we are going to use the forced air dryer to get the leaves in a pile so he can bag. Will he listen or will he rake?

Tomorrow we take down 1 pen and put the Yoshi pups in the large pen after sterilizing. We sterilize twice a day each pen. We are OCD about it. We like the pups to have clean environments. By having a clean environment the pups learn and appreciate clean.

We find the adults are thinking this cool weather is invigorating. I am not. I hate cold. I mean I really hate cold and my snowpants - which I found are way too big for me. I am laughing. Do I buy new or get them taken in or never go outside and send Dennis and Nathan outside all winter. What do you think?
