The pups are 1 day short of 3 weeks. They are actively playing. They are getting better at walking. They are progressing nicely!

I can't wait till they are out of their whelping box climbing all over each other playing with enthusiasm.

2 Weeks 5 Days

Sorry, it has been a long day. My bank thinks my credit card was compromised so they are cancelling and in 5 business days, I will get another. It has been a long day dealing with that and my printer that is broken, they want to give me $75 credit towards me buying a new one even though it is under warranty. So, dealing with that. It has been a day...

Now on to the important part. The pups are growing and doing well. Each time they wake up, they play with each other. It is delightful. In 2 days they will be 3 weeks. wow

2 Weeks 4 Days Old

The pups are really coming along. They are getting better by the day on walking. They are playing with each other. They are totally delicious.

2 Weeks 3 Days Old

Two Weeks 2 Days Old

The pups have started to actually play. I did not get it on video as we were trying to fix my microsoft 365 and it is now after days of this fixed. Hooray - 1 more thing but Dennis was on the phone while I was watching this play. I was frustrated that I didn't catch it but I will. They will do it again.

As I closely examined them, I noticed the girl is a chocolate. The boy without the white feet is a chocolate. The last that looks like he is a deep dark brown is not a chocolate as he has a black nose. The boy with white tip feet is not a chocolate as he also has a black nose.

Pigment on nose is already in and this is pretty quick.

They are playing, trying to walk and the sleep for almost 3 hours. Momma Rain should do a happy dance as it all9ws her time to nap herself.

The pups are wonderful!!! I got my 1st lick from the girl today. How wonderful is that?

2 Weeks 1 Day Old

The pups are now semi walking. Their eyes are WIDE open and they hardly gained from yesterday. This is normal. When they start attempting to walk, they expel a lot of energy so their usual gain when more sedate is minimized. Think about this. It makes sense. They all gained. Sometimes they lose at this stage but they didn't.

I weigh the pups till they attempt to jump out of the scale as you can't get an accurate reading then. 

The pups are really curious when I hold them. I find that fascinating. The eyes seems to be clear already.

Two Weeks Old: Eyes Open Videos and Photos Added

The pups are 2 weeks old. All of them is attempting to walk. No eyes are open yet. It is not a concern as I have had pups open 18 to 21 days. It will happen when it happens but after their eues are open for a few days (cloudy when they 1st open) they will start attempting lots of things. Thi sis when I introduce toys into the whelping box.

The pups are gaining and doing well. Mom is doing well. She is so adoring the pups.

13 Days Old

We have the last born that looked black with slitty eyes so I suspect in the next 2 days his will open but no changes in the others. 

Their weight gains has been consistent. and always a positive gain. Nol issues.

As you can see all significant weight gains. The last that looked black is attemting to get up on his legs. No one else yet. He seems to be the advanced one so far.

Mom is doing well. She is attentive. She refuses to go outside even at night when it is just her and Dennis.

12 Days Old

We have a couple that are now laying on their back - quite trusting. It is delightful to see.

They are continuing to grow and try already to get up on their legs but do not make it quite yet. They will. They practice and practice till they do and it is never the same again even with eyes closed. 

I do Rain's hair daily even if she doesn't look like I do. She just messes herself up snuggling with her pups. 

She is a proud momma.

We are still dealing with my 3d printer and my hacking mail situation so we are late once again.

11 Days Old

10 Days Old

Pups are now ten days old. They are truly outstanding pups - so scrumptious.

They eat, they sleep and do it all again. In another week we will start seeing the start of eyes open perhaps.

I apologize. I am very busy this weekenbd with groomings so blog updates are slow but we celebrate 1 week of consistently gaining. Mom is attentive. They are lively and everything positive is going on. 

I even love how they nelt into your hands when you hold them. No fear....

9 Days Old

Can you believe they are 9 days old now? They will have their next milestone when their eyes open up. 

Did you notice that the lone gal always seems to use her brothers as pillows. I find that funny. 

They continue to gain and are voacl for mom but sleep soundly inbetween feedings. What does that say? They are getting full allowing them to sleep. Sleep allows them to gain as they are not expelling big energy to sustain themselves. They are doing well.

8 Days Old

I was really tired last night so didn't take videos during the night. I may not other than just before bed as it is costing me dearly on sleep and I am simply a tired zombie. Every now and then I will but to be able to function, just before bed at 10pm and just after wakeup at 7am makes the most sense and Dennis doesn't take videos or photos. 

The pups are all growing nicely. Momma is attentive. 

I can't wait till their eyes open and they can connect seeing with my touch. I spend a lot of time holding them so they get used to the touch so when they open their eyes, they will have a uh huh experience.

One Week Old

Can you believe these beauties are a solid week old?

6 Days Old

Pups are all gaining an ounce a day. They are doing exceedingly well.

Mom is attentive, loving and thinks they are the greatest gift one could have despite the work. 

I can't believe that tomorrow they will be a week old. How did that happen?

Day 5

The pups are now all gaining approximately a full ounce or more in a 24 hour period. They most times find mom and they sleep solidly between feedings giving mom a time to rejuvenate and rest. They are doing well and so is Rain though she can be picky at times.

I am juggling my exercise and doing bare minimum. As I type, I am alone. Nathan napping, Dennis sleeping and me doing all of it till Dennis gets up.

Dennis has a cpap machine and he used it last night and Rain didn't even blink. So, that works.

I am in so much of a hurry that I want their eyes open but that will be in a couple of weeks. We want what we want.

Puppies literally melt into my hands when I hold them. They are very trusting.

Day 4

Here is the gallery.

The pups are all gaining about 1 ounce in a 24 period. This is a great weight gain. The last one - the tri is gaining about 6/8oz. I used to fret about such things but I don't any longer as I realize often that means that one slightly gaining less is meant to be small so I no longer worry. I am terrible at fretting in the early stages but no concerns are here. They are vocal, lively, eating and sometimes smacking their lips and are all visibly getting a round tummy. They sleep solid between feedings. This is an indicator that they are getting full and have no issues. That she had milk since day one is a great thing as pups are not trying to eat constantly which wears out moms. 

With all that being said, they are doing exceedingly well. 

We have a black sky so need to shut down. The other blog will be done later.

Rain Pups Going on Day 3

Here is the gallery and I will add to it throughout the day.

Mom has loose stools still. That is normal. About day 10 and over each day it will improve. That is how it goes. 

Pups are all gaining. The tri boy was gaining the least and now he has played catch up gaining 5/8oz overnight. That is how it happens. You sleep more, you gain less but when you are hungry you find that milk bar. All the pups are doing really well. They are active. They sleep well and are noisy when they need mom.

Momma is still trying to hide them especially now as she hears dogs in the hallway as Sage is in heat. That just happened today. I put Saffron out with her so she is not alone.

The pups are vocal when they want mom. She is a lucky 1st time mom as they sleep inbetween. This allows pups to gain and mom to replenish her milk and give her a break. When they sleep, she comes out to me or lays in her fave bed. 

I had a tough time taking videos today as Olive was vocal when Nathan went for his shower. Now that it is quiet, I am blogging. Can't win but I will do some more and share throughout the day.

Day 2

She needs a comb out and I will do that in a bit. She is confident and while pups are sleeping, she is chilling in her fave bed. I need to get another for her so she always has a clean one. Pups are eating well when they can sleep between feedings. 

Her bowels are loose which is normal. She is eating though she didn't eat overnight. She did eat starter mousse this morning - an entire can. She adores duck treats, I have to get more. She is a happy gal.

The pups were weighed this morning and they continue to gain. They can be often heard slurping while they eat. It is a riot. 

The black one is no longer black but a tri colour. The beige is bleeding through and under the tail is light. If you remember that pup appeared solid black when born with no markings. How things change in just a day.

These pups are interesting. Eyes and ears closed at this stage but usually you have to condition them to human hands. These pups, all 4 melt and snuggle into your hands. Without those senses, they trust and enjoy.

Almost a Half a Day Old

I just took their weights and across the board they all gained which is usually unheard of at this age. Usually they hold their own or lose a tiny bit waiting for mom's milk to come in but mom's milk must be in and more times than not they find the milk stations on their own.

She is attentive. It is obvious how in love she is with them - a proud momma and a 1st time mom. 

She is also eating a ton. 

I am impressed.
