Messy Dawgs

I just love the Mabel. Both Mabel and Velvet was here visiting and it was fun to watch just how attentive Mabel is to her Velvet. 

Everyone got mighty dirty today. 

Cinnamon thinks getting dirty is delightful. She adores having the siblings and pals visiting. It's the very best and the adults enjoy it too.

I am missing the pool as I am watching pups. The daughter is off to Montreal tomorrow with the grandkids to see Osheaga concert in Montreal. Dennis went to bed late as he said the dogs kept him up as we had lots of ins and outs. That means no time for the pool as he should be up just before bed. He is adjusting to the bedtime change.

Moxie, a Spice pup comes tomorrow (so exciting) and I vow to get in the pool at least for 15 minutes. Hopefully Dennis will go to bed on time tomorrow. hahahaha

Dogs have been having a great time. They get brushed out and messy by the time I get to the last one. I have to laugh as it is funny.

So Very Tired

I am so very tired. It's playing catch-up on me. That thing they call exhausted is something that comes up and bites you in the ahem. 

Here is today's gallery. It was oppressive humidity today so play indoors was the theme of the day with quick ins and outs. We hope tomorrow is better. 

I did get everyone combed out, many loads of laundry done. Dennis got the floors washed.

Rowan is doing well and had her human visiting today.

Too Busy and Too Tired

I just took a quick photo of a few of the dogs waiting for dinner. They can smell it but its not in their dish yet. We always add ground beef, or chicken or turkey etc at the night meal. We add roast chicken in the morning meal and sometimes they get leftover fish or steak. So the dogs REALLY look forward to eating. heh. Besides they expel so much energy that they are hungry.

To Magic's parents - she is eating and doing so with gusto. 

Tomorrow if I am alive I will try to do a better update. 

I will be updating the Spice blog with Farley's update and of course Rowan. Rowan's human mom will be coming to spend time with the dogs tomorrow so I may get in a swim, groom dogs and do normal things like that. We will see how the day unfolds.

viviendo la vida

Too hot but still we manage to have cool wet towels to lay on in the shade. Life is grand but yes, way too hot. The dogs hate the heat but we still managed to catch some moments. No one is going swimming except Inula and Ella. Why? They literally do not want to.

Everyone is truly having a blast. We play inside and we do take them out but we have a blast throwing and retreving and we even played hide and seek today. 

Way Too Hot

It's been a VERY hot day today and it looks like we won't get any relief till close to bedtime. Dogs are loving the air but we did have a long play session this morning and we had short ones throughout the day. When the sun goes down we will have another long one. Here's the gallery.

No one went in the pool. Sometimes it's even too hot for that and today - it was TOO HOT!

Hot Day

It was a hot day and no one wanted outdoors except to pee. So, we spent a lot of time indoors. Tomorrow, if it is hot they are going in the pool.

This was Magic after playing in the water dish. Sorry - she always looks so perfect but I like to capture her fun moments. She looks much nicer now until the next water dish fun. She especially loves the ice cubes we place in the bowls.

Murphy usually comes out hot or cold but today she went out, watched me weed and went, I don't think so. But all of them did. Maybe Dennis was treating them as they were certainly all around him.

Brewer was jumping from the couch to the loveseat today pouncing on Stone. I just about died laughing as he was truly motivated to get Stone.

Logan is in a good mood. Brush me no problem.

Argh just realized I hadn't clicked Cha Cha and Satch. Satch dug up under the tree. Should have clicked but instead I cleaned him up and yeah Cha Cha was helping him. So, clean up for her too. What is it about soft wet dirt?

Short Update

Here are 2 visiting dogs that are pregnant and we will be whelping them. They are lovely. They belong to a breeder friend that is in flux with her house. First one is due Monday - yikes so now I have to start taking temps and get set up. Yes, all that fun stuff. I may have to do a blog for them. We shall see. We have to be certifiable. :-)

Tomorrow it's supposed to feel like 40c so we will be in the pool, I imagine.

Chase dropped in. Chase is already playing - wonderful!

Goldie should be a Spice gal the way she rolls all over and messes up her hair. I just love her! She makes sure she gets the same spot come tv time, the same spot at bed time and well any lap that is empty. Gad is she fun!

Cha Cha and Satch have intergrated well. Goldie and Cha Cha seems to rather enjoy each other and Satch - well he is having a blast with the gals and Stone. The group is truly fun.

The dogs are having a blast today. It's not cold. It's not hot. The weather is ripe for play. Here is this morning's gallery. Tomorrow we are visiting Murphy's mom, Sherry with a few dogs. So some will have an outing.

I have yet to weed but plan to. hahaha I have yet to drill screw holes for bench but I am going to. Did replace a food processor with one on sale at Caynes (too many choices). Ours was 20 plus years old and bit the dust - pretty good, I say. Now we can shred chicken for the dogs in a snap and it also grates cheese much to the delight of our grandkids. We were grating by hand. What a job. 

Risa was bathed today - now who is next? Tomorrow....

Looks Like Rain

The dogs are running around like crazy. Even though it's warm, it is cloudy and that's the best. No one swam today but we did play run games and lounge outside on all the cushions. The dogs rather like the comfort as Havanese do. Here is today's gallery.

Cody and Teddy depart tomorrow. Bauer departed today and so did puppy Murphy who will be visiting us this week for day visits. We are excited.

We are also getting Cinnamon her shots tomorrow so she can go out and about. We want to bring Saffron, and Cinnamon and Brulee to visit Murphy at Murphy's place. How exciting. We also are getting some flagstone so I can finish another project I have in mind. Does it ever stop?

The puppies have been placed in everyone's arms as they come to the door. What a terrible chore to force all these people to snuggle but I think secretly they enjoyed it and so did the pups. 

I have chores to do like weeding and doing a bench etc. Plus Inula jumped on Nathan full steam out back and knicked him back and the chair broke so I need to figure out if I can fix that too. Nathan and Inula is fine but it was scary for the moment. Nothing is ever dull around here. 

Soon tv, snuggles and early baths and groomings tomorrow.

Also Brulee dropped in today and oh my gad is he a character. He's been playing up a storm. We are taking him to the store tonight to see how he does as he has his 2nd shot. Cinnamon doesn't have her 2nd shot yet. She will this week.

We had friends over for a swim but it was too cold for me so I clicked and they swam.

Cloudy, Sun, Rain

The weather keeps changing today. We only seem to have these small windows to play outdoors and this was one of them. 

It's a tad cooler - thankfully but not a swim day even though its warm enough, we keep getting teased with small windows of rain or cloud then sun.

Tomorrow Hugo and Milo and Murphy (girl) departs. Sunday the Murphy boy (puppy) departs and I take down the xpen. Cinnamon is fine with the big guys and so is Murphy. I get my familyroom back - imagine that. So, a very busy weekend with grooming, reorganizing and all that fun stuff but that's okay. 

I also got a planter on closeout dirt cheap and its HUGE. 

Last week they wanted 80.00 for the planter on sale. This week 75% off. It pays to be patient and it was the last one - huge too. Who says summer is over - only the bleepin %$^& garden centres. Really, it's only July folks. Loblaws also has their stuff in closeout costs and according to the daughter Canadian Tire does too. Will have to visit Canadian Tire tomorrow. Watch, I will be too late.

Off to play retrieve with the dogs as its dry out there now.

Heated Love

Okay, now that I have your attention, the Rusty and Ella was getting along so well. A kiss here - a kiss there and I remember you. It was a mighty hot day out today. I had too much grooming to do so I didn't click as much as I wanted to. Here is the gallery.

I did manage to get Katie in the pool. She is a truly strong swimmer. No one else swam except the Ella and well if Ella is outside she thinks its an invitiation to swim. 

It is so hot and muggy that the dogs really, really do not like to be out in it for long. 

We had one big storm last night and a tray I had out there - a rather large one had over an inch or more of water in it by morning. Hooray, I didn't have to water the garden. I did weed around the daylilies but really I have much to do and Trouble LOVES gtting dirty while I weed. Oh, you pulled that out for me?

Good news, Milo who usually reacts to thunderstorms was good - no issues. So his moms have nothing to worry about. Keep eating your east coast lobster and flaunting it. ROFL I am happy for you but really how many lobsters can you eat?

Baths and Heat and Inside Air

It's dangerous out there. It is actually too hot for the dogs and they told me so. Some like Hugo, Ella and Roxie swam but they still ran for the house and air. It felt like 09.4 today. That's a bit hot, I say. Seems we broke a record for today.

Teddy, who is pictured above had a bath and cut. He so loved the air. 

Cody loves me so that if I was sitting in the shade he would be trying to stay. But even he got too hot and inside to cool off then outdoors to snuggle again.

I am off to watch tv.  Here's a few photos.

Handling Class

Stone was a good boy. Sarah handled him for a few times and Nathan the rest of the time.

Trouble was Trouble. She bounced and tried to play with everyone and had a grand old time.

We didn't get home till very late so we walked in the door and then it was bedtime. <sigh>

Today is supposed to be the hottest July 13th ever. It's supposed to be cloudy but very hot. The dogs don't like it quite this hot. Even this morning they went out and wanted the air conditioning. 

Don't walk your dogs today unless you do it very early or very late. Play fetch or something to stimulate their minds and expel energy but that cement will be way too hot on their pads.

Limited Update

Milo and Bauer really like each other. They are thick as thiefs. It's a riot to watch. I tried getting photos outdoors but the heat is so bad that they only want to go out then quickly in. Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter. Hoping it cools off so they can get outdoor time more than 5 minutes at a time here and there. Some even look at me with those eyes to say not again - outside lady? Are you kidding. There is air conditioning inside.

Here is just a few photos. Sorry but there are days that chilling is better than getting heated up. 

We will wait till the sun goes down to run with them. Just not wise to do so when its hot like this. 

Relationships

This is Adele and River. They are so incredibly close. Here is today's gallery - a short one but... I had more chores to do.

The dogs hung out with me while I replanted the daughter's herbs. It was necessary as they were dying from a lack of soil. So, into pots they all went. It was a larger job then what I expected. The dog's loved watching the experience.

I noticed Loblaws garden center (had to go get soil) is almost closed. Plants are half priced though not much choice - well some but not what I wanted. So sad and to me gardening has just begun. What a riot. I missed the boat, so to speak. I need to start yanking out plants and weeding. Oh boy....

The dogs had fun mucking in the soil. Then Casey saw a rabbit and oh my gad the gal almost caught it. That was a bit of an adreniline rush for me. 

Wanted to get my crew all washed. Did Shoshi and Stone but no one else. Did many with dogs departing. 

Tomorrow I wash Mabel and give her a clipping and Velvet also gets a bath. Ozzie arrives in the morning. 

Mabel seems to be getting along with Velvet just fine.

We are going to miss her!

Sorry So Late

Had dogs to groom. Did take a few dogs swimming but not many as that meant I may be up till midnight combing and blow drying. heh Here's a gallery from today.

Hugo has no hair and well he needs to expel energy as he's a bichon so he may go in the pool daily. heh. 

Everyone played, rain around and had a reindeer antler treat. They were in heaven.

Mabel is here getting acquainted with Velvet. They depart on Tuesday so new baths and photos etc. Look for that. 

Then I have no excuse not to do better blogs. But hey I am trying at 10:15pm at night.

Updates: Busy Day

Here is a few photos to get you by. Dennis is learning my camera so some are coming out blurry but then again you can see motion.

We didn't get any swimming in the last couple of days as it was raining then not then raining then not. Nothing significant but enough to make it overcast. We hope for a better day tomorrow and oh my my projects are adding up. For supposed extra time nothing is getting done especially the weeds. Got to start after Velvet departs. 

We have 2 new visitors, Scout and Coco (not our breeding) and each day I groom them and do a little here and there. I like to go at it slow when they are new. They are doing wonderful. They have also opened up and are playing well. They especially love it when Nathan runs around the back like a maniac.

Bauer likes to take up my lap and spreads out when we watch tv. heh

I could go on and on. I still think I am playing recovery and I have had a LOT of grooming lately. The hand is not happy but I am working through it. 

Falling Down on the Job

Think I am playing distraction so please understand. Instead of using the camera, I am playing with the dogs. Usually I capture Nathan doing this at times and other times I play. Today I just got lost in the dogs and well that's my day. I am also grooming so I only have a few photos today. The dogs ARE playing. I also did an update of Archie in the Spice blog. 

Of course the only photos I took is before I brushed out the dogs. hahahaha

The dogs have been a wonderful pleasure today!
