10 Days Old

I am having a tough time with Youtube as all videos are uploaded but not showing. So, give it time or I will have to undelete all my videos on my phone and reupload - joy - not.

Pups are doing really well. They are of size now. 2 are now over a pound. They seem so huge when I pick up Ellas vs this crew. But they started out similar to the size of Spirits. The more a mom has the smaller the pups can be as it is still a need enough room in utero to grow thing. They all play catchup in or out of utero so it works out. 

Can you believe it was 10 days ago that we took the drive only to have 3 car deliveries and 2 whelping box deliveries. The pups are beauties - all tris but 1. Momma Tempie is still very delighted at this puppy puppy business.

Tempie's pups are just plain easy. They want for nothing.

The videos I am trying to get them up as I go. I may have doubles. I am tired. It will get better. LOL

8 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

They continue to grow with #5 heading to almost a pound. They do range close behind that. They are in an excellent growth curve.

At this point they eat, sleep and crawl to mom and cuddle. They can't hear yet and they can't see yet but they will in 1 more week plus. Then their world changes.

It is going to be a fun journey.

Full Week Old

It is hard to believe that about this time we were delivering pups in a car. But we did it and look at how great they are.

Tempie is a wonderful mom and she beams looking and caring for her little ones. It is wonderful to watch.

The pups continue to gain well. They find mom by smell. Their senses as they are is just nose and touch till their eyes and ears open. They are strong and lively. They can even use their voices when they want mom to let her milk down.

I can't wait till their eyes open.

6 Days Old

I am really late tonight. I have yet to upload the videos as I truly am behind. I even forgot to weigh the pups at 7 tonight so going to wait till morning. No biggie as they are consistentlt gaining. You take them in a 12 hour window to nip any losses in the bud or see any issues but they are more than fine.

I can't believe they are a week old tomorrow. Someone said I should give them temporary names - something to do with cars. That would be funny. I never name them but now I am thinking of car names as a temporary name. LOL

Videos are going up shortly.

Pups are growing. They are active and mom is starting to know they are more than okay as she is going out to say hello and laying outside of the pen. Moms know. :-)

5 Days Already?

I can't believe they are already 5 days old. They want for nothing even though a couple do not think so. If mom gets out to eat or wanders around and they happen to notice - hello mom where are you.

The pups are gaining quite well. 

Puppy 1 Girl 10-6/8 305g up from birth 5-1/2oz

Puppy 2 Boy 11-1/8 318g up from birth 5-6/8oz

Puppy 3 Girl 9-7/8oz282g up from birth 5oz

Puppy 4 Boy 9-7/8oz 282g up from birth 5-5/8oz

Puppy 5 Girl 12-5/8oz 360g up from birth 7-2/8oz

If you are lucky the pups usually double their birth weight 7-10 days. Some are almost there already.

4 Days

Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. Their weight gain is wonderful. I am about to weigh them again. I weigh them 12 hours apart. 7 in the morning is the 1st one and 7 at night is the next. This way I can see a 12 hour change and a 24 hour change.

Mom is so in love. Puppies find her. They love the warmth of her. We do have a heating lamp. If they are too cold they will pile up. If they are too hot they scatter. They have not had an issue.

The pups are moving, eating beauties. Got a bit before eyes and ears open but that's okay. Enjoy their noises and moments while they change.

Is it Day 3?

Here is the gallery. Videos are already up.

The pups - all 5 gained over an ounce in the last 24 hours. They no longer feel thin but significant now. They are doing exceedingly well.

I had a really bad night feeling ill from I think overdoing it on tylenol 3s due to my knee and chest pain. I almost had to go to emerg so blogs across the board will be short. Sorry. Nathan tried to get me to clean Tempie's bottom which is normal after delivery up to 2 weeks and I said really? He did clean her. I have had no sleep and still not 100% stomach wise but not in an emerg state so I am glad but need sleep. 

Pups are growing. They do fuss for mom to let down her milk. Smart pups. Anyone who have had human kids know what those cries do with milk.

Looking at pups, in this lighting and at this stage, they are not a true black. They have brown overtones.

Messy Happy Gal

Here is the gallery.

Had to share messy Tempie as no matter how messy, she sure looks cute as a button. Well, I am biased - I know but so true!

Videos will get up soon. I am slow today. Got this knee that is really bad at the moment so I have been eating tylenol 1s like candy and now my stomach is unhappy. Can't win. LOL We will get there.

The pups all appear to be various shades of black - 1 almost brown and they are all tri coloured as you can see with the colour under their tail. That is, with the exception of 1 that is a dark sable.

They are lively. Dennis crashed last night and slept for 4 hours as he simply didn't have enough sleep and pups gained. I checked on the ipad constantly and they were all finding their way to mom. I wasn't sleeping much of anything due to the knee and chest. The chest hurts when a dog kicked me when trying to give them meds. It was a freak accident. It still hurts days later but is getting better unlike the knee.

I may have caught in a video or two a puppy that tends to climb up on mom's side and sleep hanging over her. I never saw that but must be comfortable as she has done it a couple of times that I have seen thus far.

The pups are growing. They are active. Best of all, Tempie is so in love!

Two Post Day

Only going to do this today and go to once a day.

I weigh them twice a day so I will not be weighing till 730 tonight. 730 in morn after I put out water dishes and 12 hours later.

In this gallery - this is why I had to share - you will see Tempie literally smiling. She was like this with her 1st litter. Some moms are just so simply delighted. I am thankful that all our moms enjoy. Otherwise they should not be moms - just like humans. It is a big commitment and if its a 'job', well maybe not right for you but that's my opinion after so many kids. LOL

This crew, I can hear them drinking quite literally and they do find their way to a milk station and actually not happy if you hold them in place to try to do one slot vs another that they may enjoy or desire more. Heh... Is that determination or attitude? LOL Tempie is such a laid back dog and so is dad.
