18 Hours Old

I usually update the first 24 hours a couple of times then go back to once a day. I am impressed with Sage. She is attentive to her pups. She is eating well and her pups seem to find her. I added extra photos I took to the gallery earlier in the day.

I weigh the pups at 7am and at 7pm. I sometimes weigh the odd one to see if it is gaining inbetween the 1st wee as I tend to like to know if they need help. They are lively and if mom is gone too long as I take her out to do her duties and have to clean her backend, they make noises for her to come back. LOL

As they get older their bellies get larger and therefore they extend their sleep and eat more at a feeding.

Spirit was caught going in to clean the pups when Sage was outside. Sage seems to be fine with it so pens are remaining open so they have the freedom to get a different perspective of what is going on. I think it makes for a better mom if she can go out and let the wind flow through their hair taking in the weather and fresh air. They only go out for minutes only and that time expands when pups are sleeping longer. I truly believe human and canine moms need balance, massages, love etc what they experience, they pass on to their pups. Both Spirit and Sage is a new mom. They are both embracing it wonderfully. Though I think Spirit would be happy if she had one of Sage's pups. LOL

They are so sweet. I was wondering what Spirit would think when she realizes Sage has 4 and she has 1.
