4 Weeks 2 Days: When

We have decided with so much going on that instead of today, we are going to attempt to get them to eat mousse tomorrow as it is a quieter day. Will they eat? Who knows. I know Hallie's wasn't till 4.5 weeks so we shall see how they are. 

They are doing rather well with the pad. With so much on my plate, I can't get them on the pad each wakeup time and after eating. But they are making their way. When we are just down to Stryker, I will be on top of it. Dennis has been at times. I have been at times but not 100% of the time. I have to say that I am glad these pups seem to be quick in adapting habits. 

I so love their waggy tails as they so love you paying attention to them. Exciting - there is a human!

4 Weeks 1 Day

As I had a lot of grooming, I didn't get too many photos but hopefully enough.

I have been noticing their blankets are dry and their pad is used a great deal without me placing them on them. Bravo little ones.

Tomorrow I am going to introduce some floor space to see if they can walk on that surface.

4 Weeks Old

Do you realize that all of these pups are tris not black and whites. It is interesting.

We are going to hold out for a couple of days to introduce solid food. So far mom seems to be handling it well. I need to figure out how to redo the pens but to be honest, I am too busy. I want time for Nathan to help and me to fim their 1st experience and I also have to figure out room. 4 weeks is my starting point but not till 4.5 weeks do they usually embrace food. We shall see.

In a couple of weeks we will have puppy visits - 1st of two. Wow sounds fast, I know but it is what it is. 

They wag their tails a mile a minute when you pet them or even get in close proximity. It is wonderful. Yoshi is such a loving dog so it all makes sense, doesn't it.

1 Day Short of 4 Weeks Old

I was seriously busy today so hardly got any videos or photos. I will try to do better tomorrow. Though tomorrow is busy too. 

I have to decide when to start feeding them mousse but it has to be when I have time. It may have to wait for a couple of days. We shall see. 

Today Yoshi was feeding them standing up. That will fix the fitting concern.

They are playing more and more.

Some of the pups are already finding their way to the pad. We have some smartie pants in this crew. :-)

3 Weeks 5 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

Pups are full out playing these days and it is getting hard for them to fit feeding from mom. 

In 2 days we will try them on mousse to see if they are ready. Do you think they will be in 2 days? We shall find out.

They adjusted to the larger area really like no change occured. It was wonderful.

They see you and they have that waggy waggy tail. It is delightful!

3 Weeks 4 Days New Digs

Here is the gallery.

The pups are out of their whelping box now. It is still a tight area but it will do till they can move to the big pen.

We managed to fit a crate and a pad in there. Not sure how we will fit food when they turn 4 weeks but we will figure it out.

They are already spreading out. Dennis will have to make sure all get to mom during the night. I suspect that is why he is napping now.

How did they react? As if they always had this space. They didn't fuss one bit. They just went okay new area. These are great pups.

Why did we do this now? Last night one of the pups climbed out of the whelping box and poor Yoshi was beside herself on how to get him back in. This is an indicator that this is time.

3 Weeks 3 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

The pups are really starting to full out walk. It is getting crowded with 6 pups so maybe tomorrow, we will be getting them out of the whelping box. There is not enough room for a crate etc so that will have to wait but it will give them more room simply with the removal of the whelping box. 

I haven't decided how we are managing water, food etc but I can perhaps wait another 4 days for that but really I need to introduce it by then to help Yoshi as right now she is eating almost constant when she is not feeding. I am thankful she is as she is producing enough milk for them, at this point.

The pups have got of size now and really are doing well. Yoshi is amazing with her care of herself and the pups. I am amazed by her!

3 Weeks 2 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

These 2 snuggle often but this time I was able to catch it. It is so heart warming.

They are interacting with each other and they are delicious. They are strengthening their legs and getting around.

It is amazing how slow they develop and how fast theey develop if you know what I mean. 

I can't wait till they are running the halls.

3 Weeks 1 Day Old

The pups are starting to get active. We will know when we have no choice but to move them out of the whelping box. It is pretty easy to figure out when that is. 

Right now they are perfecting their skills with walking and strengthening their legs. They are curious and amazingly loving. They nelt when you hold them.
