Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 5:54PM We have had rain today. We had mud brought inside. Don't tell me that some dogs don't like the mud. Some do - some don't.
We practice getting them outdoors inbetween. They say the heat is going to move west.
The dogs know where the treats are. They remember. They are smart and they look at you to say - treat?
They are more intelligent than you think.....
Friday, July 3, 2026 at 6:40PM The rain came. The rain went and we got the dogs out before it poured. It is still really hot but steamy. I was hoping the rain cooled it down but no... Maybe if it rains again. Wouldn't that be lovely for this weather to break.
We have had nore playing indoors that outdoors. The camera is still brokn and they are closed all weekend so Monday it is to get it in and usually about 3 weeks for it to be fixed.
Dogs had a blast despite all this and they are adjusting. They don't like the extreme heat.
We are excited for Lexi's humans as they now have air.
Now to watch tv and snuggle with dogs after I brush out a couple of dogs before they go home.
Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 7:35PM Some of the photos are not good. My camera was slowly dying and you can no longer do anything on it so it will have to be brought in for repair. Joy - not!
Lexi is coming for overnight as they lost their air conditioner. Lexi will bask in the cool of air but I hope her parents can do the same. What a terrible time to lose your air.
The heat is something terrible out there. Dogs do go out but many many short time periods. Then they come in, drink and play and play. We put a huge bag of ice out there and they were kicking it around. I guess they didn't know what to do with it.
It is Dennis day off so I have been busy. Hope you are resting and enjoying and you have air. If not, bring your dog here. We always have room.
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 4:45PM We are only taking dogs out for 5 minutes max. It is simply way too hot for them so not many photos but they are having fun inside.
They say weather will be like that all week. We are going to sit in the air, play games, watch tv and just ignore that blazing sun. Hope you are doing the same.
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 4:56PM We went out early so it wasn't too hot but now in early evening, it is scorching outdoors. We are doing indoor play.
That is okay. We have fun inside too. Even our deck is hot so I put water on it before they go out and we wet all the walkways taking them out while they do their duty.
It is supposed to be like this all week with tomorrow being even hotter. So stay safe with your little ones. Keep them cool. We are thankful we have air. I feel for anyone who isn't.
We have our grand daughter's dog here and she is installing an air conditioner. I suggested she remain here for another day or 2. Dogs really can get sick from weather this hot and it can be a life threatening event. If you do not have air, bring them here or to someone who has air. I guess we now have Europe's heat.
Monday, June 29, 2026 at 7:48PM It has been a funny day. My coffee maker died. It was a 250 dollar unit and refused to allow the buttons to work. It is not new. But it wasn't cheap so no coffee today made me an unusual frustrated - going through withdrawel from caffein being. I so tried to get past it. So off we went to buy a cheap coffee maker - a 60 dollar this time and got it home. Dennis got it out of the box and broke the carafe. Replacement carafes cost 35 dollars. I set it up after Nathan got a replacement but no metal insert - have to use paper. Have to find a metal one on Amazon or something as Canadian Tire didn't have. Still no caffeine. I drink water. I am usually not moody but even the dogs were giving me massive licks as if to say - what is WRONG with you. |
We had dogs come - dogs go. I have to wake up early to groom as Buddy departs. Dennis has a dr. appointment for his asthma attacks which happen too frequently.
Dogs have been lounging or playing greatly. They say real serious heat is coming. Oh boy thank you to air conditioning. I can't imagine what that would be like. We are thankful.
It was actually a good day despite my coffee fiascos. You have to laugh about that!
Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 4:54PM It is a hot day but thanks to air, we remain very comfortable and so are the dogs.
The dogs have had runs in the hall seeing it was so warm. They love running in or out. I am glad as it makes extreme weather solutions and we do like to expel their energy and just give them fun daily. Then they always nap so energy they do expel.
Dennis did water the plants and the dogs tried to catch the water stream - well some of them did. Others just watched.
Canada defeated South Africa in the World Cup. Exciting to hear.
Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:04PM I had a lot of grooming today so just finished. Ms Bailey was enjoying life here. She just departed.
Please go to Rain, Rebel and Tempie's blogs and tell me if comments work. No rush but I want to know before I escalate this. I can do comments myself so it doesn't help that I can. It matters if you can.
Nathan is into Ottawa for the day tomorrow to celebrate his uncle's 100th birthday and his cousins 100th. I have too much grooming so impossible for me to go. He will bring back stories and photos.
Dogs had a blast today but I have a mess at the front door of leads and collars that I still have not got to to tidy up. I will get to it before bedtime.
I am about to watch tv with some of the dogs.
I am doing a 3d print of this really ornate bowl and it finishes in an hour. It is a 22 hour print.
I just looked down at my socks and the bottom is full of hair. Oh my.
The dogs did have many many play session and they had steak tonight. Sometimes they eat better than me.
I hope to get back to exercise on Monday, I am now only doing bare minimum to keep my streak, I simply can't fit more in, It happens but doing enough to maintain my streak.

Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 4:33PM After huge play, they all come in and chill in a huge way. They are messy. They are tired and they just need a nap after fun play.
It is Dennis day off today. It is Nathan's on Friday and he heads into Ottawa on Sunday to celebrate his uncle's 100th birthday. I won't be going - though I wanted to but I simply have too many things on the plate so I will hear stories, see photos and live it through the eyes that are not mine.
This is a funny summer. It gets sunny then cloudy but cloudy more than sunny. The dogs love it. I haven't decided.

The dogs are funny today. In and outside they played and played. We had a lot go home and a lot arrived.
The sun is shining bright. New and old relationships are cultivated by the dogs. It is actually quite fascinating - well for me. I like the looks, the play, the solid nap times and then back at it again. I consider myself rather lucky to have this in my life.

We have a slew of dogs departing tomorrow.
I felt bad for Nathan as he had only a couple of kids call him. He doesn't like to tell anyone anything but it is bothering him. Oh well, it is just a day or is it? Hope the dads had a wonderful day.
I groomed all day literally.
Nathan made himself a steak with a baked potato. He has been chilling outside or watching tv. I barely exercised as I just had too much to do. But there is always next week.
We still only have Rebel and Rain in heat. You can't attempt breeding till about day 9.
I still have 2 fans to return. I hate that comments are not working. I am going to contact them again.
I am so cold, I have socks on and the dogs are cuddling with me in blankets. It is a riot!

We woke up to rain and the dogs didn't want to go outside and they were miffed at Mother Nature. They enjoy that just before breakfast jaunt outside that we didn't get. But they did get the after breakfast run.
I am not sure but I feel mighty tired today. Rain does that. Never get a nap in - well almost never but the news cycle is driving me crazy. I should just turn it off and look at something new. There is Netflix etc
Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 4:29PM It is a crazy week. Not many boarding. It almost feels like covid. We will be breeding when the girls come into heat. They should be coming into heat soon and then it is 63 days from conception.
Not getting any headway with fixing my comments. They are not sure why. Cute and I remind them I pay for this...
It is a crazy year less dogs, huge expenses but we have the dogs.
I had the dogs lazing with me on the outdoor couch. They love it when you laze with them.
Nathan is still walking dogs. Good for him!

Dogs are having a fabulous time. They run, they play and they gawk at anything moving.
Today I attempted to play ball with them. They were having none of it so I took a toy and threw that. They liked that choice better. hmmm
